Newton has been selected as the community for the Kansas Mural Project, sponsored by Mid-America Arts Alliance.  I wrote a proposal back in December, enumerating the reasons I thought Newton was a deserving community. We were one of 11 communities across the state to apply. MAAA made the official announcement today:

Well-known muralist Dave Lowenstein will come this summer and facilitate this community project, aimed at crossing boundaries and bringing together diverse cross-section of our population.
