Part of the February whirlwind was a trip to New York last week to attend the College Art Association conference. I participated in a really interesting panel on teaching art / history at liberal arts colleges, I heard a few fantastic papers, I caught up with friends, and I made time to visit MoMA and the Met. The best part of the trip, though, was a book launch celebration for Reconciling Art and Mothering. My lovely editor at Ashgate hosted the event at her CAA booth, and a dear friend and contributor catered the event. We had quite a crowd in attendance and sold many copies! I met several of the contributors in person for the first time, and all in all, it felt like a grand celebration of many years of work.
