This is where I spent many of my summer days, the beautiful library (former bank lobby) of the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. Having researched there frequently in 2011, I returned often in June and July to use the quiet space for my summer writing. The Lex project is not yet finished, but it is much, much further along than it was. And, I finally feel like I know where the project is headed, which makes it all more manageable. It could not be done, though, without the continued help and generosity shown by many archivists, librarians, and museum  colleagues that I am now glad to call friends.
