We are nearing completion of the brainstorming / discussing / debating imagery phase of the mural project and we are nearly ready to begin the physical labor in earnest. Our work for this week entails finding volunteers and supplies to build a support structure for the snorkel lifts that will allow the painters to reach the high parts of the wall, power-washing and priming the wall. We have so many great community partners in this endeavor–Bethel College, the City of Newton, the Newton Kansan, the Carriage Factory Art Gallery. I cannot give enough credit to Joe Regier of Regier Construction for his active participation in the design team and his willingness to step up and help out with this community project. Images of the progress coming soon!
