I was pleased to attend a motherhood studies conference last week in New York City. “Amplifying the Voices of (M)others 2010” was hosted by the Museum of Motherhood and the Motherhood Foundation, Inc., in midtown Manhattan. The conference hosted a diversity of participants, from poets and visual artists to historians, psychologists, and cultural studies scholars. My presentation concerned visual forms of motherhood memoirs. Many thanks to Joy Rose for bringing together some stimulating panels!
